We received the following online enquiry for an accessible bathroom renovation via a Google search and the AAS website:
“Hello AAS, we are looking for quote and design on small accessible bathroom ensuite renovation. Removal of shower hob and glass panels. Addition of rails and support. Widening doorway into bathroom. The property is located in Butler.“
In response we called the owners and attended the property within 48 hours to inspect and provide a solution.

Widen Door to Bathroom
To allow access for a wheel chair, we advised to widen the door from 620mm to 820mm and change the door to a sliding door. Our solution and scope of quoted works were as follows:
- Remove existing hinged door;
- Supply and install metal frame and flash panel sliding door; and
- Remove all waste & clean site.
Remove Shower Hob
To make it easier to enter the shower we recommended removal of the shower hob and also removal of the tiles from the floor and walls. The scope of our quoted works are as follows:
- Jackhammer tiles from wall and floor; and
- Remove shower hob.
Supply and Install New Vanity, Bench-top and Basin
We recommended removal of the cabinetry so that a wheelchair could fit under the vanity. The new bench top will be fitted to the wall and the basin replaced. The scope of our quoted works are as follows:
- Remove existing vanity;
- Supply and Install new “floating” bench top;
- Supply and Install new basin;
- Remove all waste & clean site.
Supply and Install New Tiles (floor and up to 1800mm high)
The scope of our quoted works are as follows:
- Supply and install new tiles to the floor and walls
Supply and Install Mixer Taps to Shower and Basins
Mixer taps are a lot easier to use than normal taps, we therefore believe that mixer taps should be added to the basin and the shower. The scope of our quoted works are as follows:

Supply and Install Shower Curtain Rod
The scope of our quoted works are as follows:
- Supply and install new shower curtain rod,
Painting of the Bathroom Door, Frame and Ceiling
After tiling, to make the room look as new and fresh as possible, we advised painting the door to the bathroom, door frame and ceiling. The scope of our quoted works are as follows:
- Supply and paint bathroom door, bathroom door frame and bathroom ceiling
